DOWNLOAD THE REFRAME CHALLENGE WORKBOOK
TRANSCRIPT
Hey, hey, and welcome back to Tiny Tips with Krissi Thomas. Today we're talking about reframing. And I'm excited about this one because I have an entire workbook for you to download so that you can practice what reframing is. I'm calling it the reframe challenge.
And For all of you who don't understand or don't know what reframing is, it's the art of training your brain to believe what you tell it. So when you think about that, It's really important to tell your brain the things you want. Desire, dream, all of those things positively. When we tell our brains, Or we think, things that are negative, whether it's, Body work. Marriage. School, I don't know, I'm making all of these up. Anything that you are upset about. Okay? When you constantly have these things on repeat in your mind, Your brain believes it. Your brain will create pathways that because it thinks it's the truth. And if you ever want to go study all of this stuff, this has been published in a 1000000 different ways. Forever and ever. And honestly, it's in the Bible too. So, I want you to understand that this is super powerful stuff. It's real.
And the more you can train your brain to believe what you want to believe, the outcomes you want, to believe, joy, and positivity. The likelier you are to appear that way, feel that way, be that way, become that way. Okay?
So, also, reframe, reframing is kind of the backbone of the You can method. This is where it all comes from. It's changing a belief or a thought of you can't, which is the bad word we don't say into you can. That is a reframe in and of itself and where all of this has started.
So when you think about your words, and you'll go through this in this challenge, I'm just going to kind of walk you through the challenge, um, so you understand what we're doing here.
Is whether your mind is racing or you're sitting in meditation, do you notice patterns and thoughts that repeat? Do you find yourself fighting thoughts or releasing them? A big part of reframing is to recognize what you don't like so you can make changes in your brain. By training it to believe what you truly desire. Okay?
So what types of words will pop into your head consistently? What purpose do they serve? Would you change any of them? Would you keep them the same? And why? Okay, the goal of the exercise is to take what's in your brain and dump it. It will allow you to visualize what you're telling your mind so you can make intentional decisions to reframe.
And again, let me repeat, reframing is the art of training your brain to believe what you tell it. And let me stop right there.
Train your brain.
We have 3 things we can train in this life. Your body, your craft, and your mind. Most people train the first two. You go to the gym, you uh, eat really great food. You recover very well. You're training your body. You get better at work. You get better at your hobby. You get better at your passion project. Because that's your craft, you're honing it all the time. How many people take this time like we're doing right now to train the brain and put in the reps? You have to train it just like anything else. Okay, so I just wanted to make that part clear and understandable of why it's so important.
So then after you're choosing these words, Now we want to flip the script on the negative ones, right? This will help you visualize the positive side of what's in your brain. So challenge yourself to reframe any of those negative thoughts into the positive. At a minimum, shift and lean into your desires and write them down again.
Okay? Now what purpose do those words or feelings serve? Did you notice any changes in how you think about the words in your head? Did it shift your thinking in any way? To move you forward? Write down those thoughts and how they make you feel. And remember that feeling so you can come back to it. This is a simple exercise to show you the power of the mind and how small shifts make a big impact. It takes practice and I encourage you to write your thoughts daily. And that free flow with your pen to paper will help remind you of where you're thriving. For example, where you want to focus, where you are focusing, right? And where you are also feeling blocked. So you can work on reframing.
After that, we're going to talk about naming your essence words. Okay, well, what does that mean? Essence words. It's a simple idea that brings forth your true self. So like you think of the essence of yourself. These are words that will always enter your mind, find their way into your writing, your conversations, your thoughts. These words are what anchor you to your own personal brand. So I want you to write down as many words as you can that describe who you are. Use, use as much paper as, as you want, like you could write a 100 words down. Okay? But just anything that comes into your mind. That you believe is the true essence of yourself. It's a fun way to pull out all the words that you feel, describe you, or the words you want to be, you strive to be, you know to be. Um, there are adjectives that make up your special sauce.
We all have our special sauce. And it's the sauce that only you have because you are unique. And you are a gift to this world. So remember that, okay?
Okay, this is the hard part after that. Now you have to pick five. I know, I know that's going to be hard. But you can do it. Okay? So you you need to look at your list and you have to circle 5 words that you know to be true of you. Your anchoring words of life. These words are your essence, by the way. They are defined by you and only for you. They help you show up as the person you are meant to be. They find their way into every aspect of your life. And you own these words and they propel you forward in life because you anchor yourself to them. They help you define your purpose.
Now moving on in this challenge is we're going to create a personal precept. So what does that mean? It's a simple rule to regulate behavior or thought. That's it. As you think through all the work, that you've completed, which I'm assuming you're downloading my workbook and completing this. And honing in on specific thoughts and words, can you take these 5 essence words and turn them into your very own precepts of life?
So I'm going to give you an example of my very own, okay? My essence words are abundance, motivation, inspire, optimism and freedom. Here's my list of my precepts, how that works itself out. Live in a state of abundance. My motivation to keep moving forward and upward. Inspire everyone I come in contact with to reach further and higher. Lead with optimism, no matter how hard the battle, and curate freedom in my mind, body, and soul through all my actions.
So you see how that becomes your own personal brand. It's not even a statement as much as it, these are the values you live by. These are the precepts of your life. That you hold to be true. And that become your brand. Whether you're putting yourself out there or not, that's not, that's not the point. The point is, you own these and you think about them all the time.
So then you're going to have a chance to do that in this challenge. And really the hardest part of all of this, and it goes back to kind of the training, right? It's all about that action. So, You have gone through this whole challenge. You're ready to take action and you're ready to make it part of your daily life. That's what I want for you. Um, The whole purpose of this is to get you thinking about how powerful words are in everything you do. Everything you do.
So, as I leave you, remember, think about your words. Reframe those you want to turn into the positive. Be consistent and train your brain to believe in these words and the outcomes you want. Use your essence words and all you do, and create your precepts of life and live by them daily.
All right, y'all, till next time. God bless.
