Hey, hey, it's Tiny Tips with Krissi Thomas here.

Today we're talking about activation or anything that has to do with action as it relates to the dreams you have.

One of my favorite sayings from Marshawn Lynch is “It's all about that action boss.” If you don't know who Marshawn Lynch is, go look him up. He was a running back for the Seattle Seahawks. And he is amazing. He's Beast mode. I love him, and I'm also a huge Seattle Seahawks fan.

Because guess what? Fun fact, my mom was an original sea gal in 1976 and I went to every single one of her practices. So fun.

Anyway, moving back to activation and what that means. I will have a download for you after this tiny tip audio.

And what I want to talk about is when you decide what your dreams are it's very important to set yourself up for success. And I think an activation plan is a great way to start.

So to realize your dreams, it helps to start with this plan. I’ve set out some simple steps that will help you get there. Because I think framing things is super helpful for our brains and especially with so many things coming at us at any given time. We need frameworks to ensure that we can continue these steps forward.

So, What I want to talk about here is dreams. And did you know a dream without a plan is just a wish?

So, if we want to start out with, WHAT IS MY DREAM? WHAT DO I REALLY WANT? What do I want to achieve? We have to write those down. I'm a huge proponent of pen to paper, and here's why, it engages a widespread part of the brain network. Mostly in the area linked to memory and learning. So when you put pen to paper, it suggests very unique cognitive benefits. All to say, you will light up a part of your brain that you are not able to do when you're typing. I realize that typing is faster for most of us, but if you have a chance to take pen to paper and write these dreams down in the exact fashion that you see yourself achieving them. It's gonna be very powerful for you. And you can do it any way you want. Like I said, journal, scratch piece of paper, just somewhere that you can refer to it.

And then, not only do you have to write down what these dreams are. These big, audacious dreams you have. It's WHEN CAN I MAKE THAT A REALITY? And that's really important because we need some frame of time. To ensure that we step forward into these dreams. What I mean by that is, I don't want you to think, that you have to put a specific day, and if you don't make it by a specific day, you're a failure. That is not what this is about.

What it is about is setting yourself up for something where you're stepping towards in a realistic fashion. Life is gonna life. Things are going to come up, but you have to have a baseline plan of stepping towards that goal.

So here's an example. I remember my husband coming in from a workout one day in January and he says, I'm going to run a marathon. And I said I'm in. Both of us have never run. We are not runners. We've obviously never done a marathon or a half marathon. But we're athletic and, you know, we love wellness and all that.

So The 1st step we did was, okay, how do you train for that? We had to put together a training plan so that we knew we could get enough miles in in order to run a full marathon. By the time it came up, which in this case was in June. So we had a 6 month time frame. And we did it. Because we put a plan together. So, what I'll also say is we have this plan, and guess what? My poor husband ended up getting injured right before the marathon. So he was unable to run the marathon. Does that mean that all of his training and all of that planning was for nothing? Absolutely not! It means that he now had to reset, move forward, and figure out how to plan for the next marathon. And guess what? He did at the very next year.

So, That's what I'm talking about with timing. It doesn't always work out exactly the way you want it, but having a framework of time is so important. Because it, Is the carrot or it's the thing that's pushing you. Okay?

So then, it's HOW DO I MAKE IT A REALITY? So I was just talking about we created a plan, right? Which are, what are the steps it takes to get to this reality to get to this dream. And those are really important to think long and hard about. Because it has to be realistic for your lifestyle, what you have going on, what chapter in your life you’re in. How much time do you realistically have to spend, that kind of a thing.

And then once you do that, and you're consistently doing this, you need to CHECK IN with yourself. And all it is, is tracking whatever you set out to do and holding yourself accountable. So it can just be a simple yes or no. Track it in your phone or wherever is easiest. And That way, you will continue your momentum.

Based on that tracking. What do you do to keep that MOMENTUM going strong? If you find that you have set yourself up for something that is not working, or you are not consistent, on said thing. You know, for a week, 2 weeks, then something's wrong. Something's off. It's not working within the lifestyle that you have. So all it means is, You just have to shift Some things around so that you can do what's realistic. And will continue to move the needle forward.

So these are the steps, I think, are really important when you're setting yourself up for the dreams you will accomplish. You will achieve. I hope this helps. I hope you download the worksheet. And I also hope that you share your wins with me. My inbox is always open. And you can DM me anytime. So let me know how it's going, and if this, Tiny tip helped you.

All right, God bless you.
